The Gift of Life

According to OrganDonor.gov, there are nearly 100,000 people on a waiting list for organ and tissue donation. Each donor has the ability to positively impact up to 50 lives. As described by Donate Life America, "transplantation gives hope to thousands of people with organ failure and provides many others with active and renewed lives."

I recently had the pleasure of meeting a very sweet woman named Darlene. She received the most amazing gift. Her brother gave her one of his kidney's so that she could have a second chance at life.

Darlene said, "it wasn't until after my transplant that I went all out and began fulfilling my dreams." She is now happily married, going to college part-time, producing podcasts and running her own business as a Virtual Assistant which utilized the talents she enjoys.  Darlene said, "I think following your dreams is something you should always strive to do, no matter what the circumstance."
